Bridgeworks No. 7

Two Jobs

The two Bridgeworks jobs, and how a contract clause becomes a protection that watches it. Coomera for Transport and Main Roads, Coffs Harbour for Transport for NSW.

A construction site gate before dawn under one floodlight, two figures at the gate in rain. The title Two Jobs is set over it.
01
Coomera Connector Stage 1, as five labelled fields: Transport and Main Roads, the Transport Infrastructure Contract, AU$5.0M, the earthworks, drainage, pavement, culverts and headwalls Bridgeworks does, and the Gold Coast.
02
Coffs Harbour Bypass, as five labelled fields: Transport for NSW, GC21, AU$8.2M, the earthworks, soft ground, drainage and bridge approaches Bridgeworks does, and Korora.
03
Two men on a wet site, one writing in a notebook, with balloons asking who signs the extension of time notices on Coomera and answering me.
04
From the contract to a protection, as three labelled fields: a possible delay notified within 10 business days, a watch against missed claims; a nonconformance notified within 1 working day, a watch against rework; a daily inspection before every shift, a check against lapsed compliance.
05
Where each disease is caught, as four labelled fields: the contract notice register for missed claims, the nonconformance register for rework, the plant prestart register for lapsed compliance, and disputes and cost drift in the next strips.
06
Published research on a AU$5.0M job, as three labelled bars of contract value: approved variations 10.6 per cent, rework 10 per cent, planned margin 9.89 per cent.

Bridgeworks is a demo company and its people are invented. The Coomera Connector and the Coffs Harbour Bypass are real public projects; everything Bridgeworks does on them, and every value on these panels, is invented demo data read from the seed on 5 October 2026. The three obligations are rows from Demiton's obligation library: TMR Transport Infrastructure Contract cl 35.5(a), TMR MRTS50 cl 10.2 and TfNSW TS 00088 cl 6.9. The research figures are those recorded in No. 6 (research.demiton.io, read 4 October 2026): rework 10 per cent, client-approved change orders 10.6 per cent and planned gross margin 9.89 per cent of contract value. The registers shown are seeded in Bridgeworks; on a customer tenant its own systems fill them.
